Commercial licensing, update windows, and support: a practical guide for founders and agencies

Content updated: Oct 22, 2026

Three separate dimensions of every digital purchase

When buying SaaS starter kits, mobile codebases, or UI systems, founders often conflate usage rights with maintenance windows. Every offer on HTZen separates three distinct commitments:

  1. License scope: What you are legally allowed to build, launch, and monetize.
  2. Update window: Which future product releases you can download at no extra cost.
  3. Support coverage: How long and to what extent our engineering team assists with setup and reproducible bugs.

Your license to run an existing downloaded version continues even after your optional update or support window expires.

Personal, Commercial, and Agency use cases

Before selecting an offer tier, match the license parameters to your business model:

  • Solo founders and internal tools: Verify how many team seats can access the raw source or design files and whether commercial monetization (charging end users via subscriptions or one-time payments) is permitted.
  • Client agencies and studios: If you build custom applications for clients, check whether the license permits transferring a compiled end product to one client per purchase, or if an extended multi-project license is required.
  • Prohibited redistribution: No standard commercial license allows repackaging our raw source code, UI kit components, or APK files for resale on competing marketplaces or open-source repositories.

Open-source packages and third-party assets

Modern codebases integrate open-source libraries (such as MIT or Apache-2.0 packages) alongside proprietary application architecture. Your store license governs our original code and design work while third-party packages retain their respective upstream licenses. Always preserve copyright headers and attribution files included in the archive.

What technical support covers (and what it does not)

Included product support focuses on getting the asset running as documented in the release notes and resolving reproducible defects in supported environments. Custom feature engineering, third-party cloud provisioning, or bespoke brand redesigns require a separate consulting agreement.
